High powered field loads in Mohawk 48 OK?

Is it OK to shoot high brass 2 3/4 inch inch 12 guage loads labeled "magnum" in my Remington Mohawk 48,(less expensive version of 11-48). They shoot fine but the recoil is impressive, to say the least.I was wondering if the gun was made to shoot these? It shoots light 1 oz dove loads too, and the recoil is mild with these. Thanks for any information.

  Just because it's the less expensive brother to the 11-48 doesn't mean it's any less capable of tossing a load of shot. While the recoil may be more than you're comfortable with, the gun is safe.
