Colt Revolver Frames

Can anyone tell me what the designations are for the following Colt revolvers: New Service Shooting Master Police Positive Special Python TrooperWill greatly appreciate any help; need a set of grips for the Shooting master, would like Roper style

  What frame is the Python from? What other revolvers come from the same frame? I understand that the E and I frames will accept the same stocks. If this is true, what revolvers come from these frames? THX Kevin

  the Officer's Match and Police Positve both use the same frame ( and grips)

  Officers Model, Official Police, Python and Trooper are "E" and "I" frames.
  Python is now referred to as "Model I"

  j2k22 is wrong about the "Officers Match" and "Police Positve" being the same frame size. I assume the reference is to "Officers Model Match," which is an I-frame, and to "Police Positive," which is the smaller D-frame.
  
  Kevin, haven't we had this lesson before?
  
  The I-frame began in 1908 as the Army Special, which became the Official Police, which begat the Officers Model Target, Officers Model Speical, Officers Model Match, Camp Perry, Commando, Marshal, Border Patrol, Trooper, "357" and Python. All are the same frame size, but some have have a round butt (2-inch Official Police and Marshal) instead of square.
