pre-64 win honest values...
Have 3 old Winchesters that I want to insure for fair value (although they are irreplaceable)
1. 1894 30 WCF round bbl take down made in 1908. Professional matte blue refinish. The "Nickle Steel, especially for smokeless powder" is very legible as well as the rest of the lettering and S/N. I did a satin hand rub oil coat on the stocks with no sanding to protect the old wood. The stocks are solid and look great but forend is a little loose. Bore pitted but riflings are strong and it shoots good.
2. Win M70 Supergrade 300 Magnum (300 H&H)made in 1948/49. Thats the good part...both wood and metal have been messed with. That said it is a great shooter! Period Leopold scope that I sent to Portland for a refirbishment. Wood (minus 1 inch on butt) is 95%. The metal is at least that.
3. No problems here. Pre-war Model 64 in 25-35. Not the deluxe model but easy 90%.
I have Blue Books but they are not always right on the up or down side here in the Pacific Northwest. Thanks ahead of time for your valuations (or comments). Phil

Hello Phil...
The first two guns are very problematic to place a market value on because they have been "messed" with (not factory original). Best guess is that they are both in the $350 - $450 range.
The Model 64 is a different story though. It could easily hit the $1500 mark, but I would feel better if I could see it.
Where is Benton WA? I live in the Bremerton area.

Bert H., I live in Benton County, WA. None of these are for sale...just wanted a realistic value for insurance purposes. I was thinking the 300 H&H would be worth more and the 25-35 would be worth less than you said. Thanks Bert....Phil

I agree with the 1894 and the 64. I think the model 70 would do 600-800 0 -
I'd put the 70 super grade in the $700 plus (even though it's been messed with) It's always best not to mess with wood and medal.
