L.C. Smith, grade 1, 12 ga.
I have a 12 ga. damascus barreled L.C. Smith in Grade 1. Wood is solid, no cracks but checkering is worn. Damascus pattern is all there but four or five light dents in the barrels. Lock up is tight as new. Bores near perfect and some staining on side locks but no rust pits of any consequence. Butt plate has me a bit puzzeled. Plastic, no markings, just checkered and has two "allen head" screws. Looks like it has always been there. Is that correct? Any ballpark figures on value?

A tough call given all the things I don't know...
I assume hammerless, but it wasn't stated. The gun has been used in the field and is worn. Dents can be removed and are probably of little consequence. Butt plate is correct as far as I can tell by your description.
I'd value the gun at somewhat less (30% as a guide) than a fluid steel tubed gun in the same general condition. As a point of reference you'll see well used field guns with steel tubes for about $400.00. The key here is that I don't know that what I'd define as well used compares to what you'd define as well used.
I'm sure there'll be other opinions.
