8mm surplus ammo

I am looking for 8mm surplus ammo.

There seems to be tons available here and there but I am looking for non corrosive.

Any help in what to buy and where so as not to get the old shaft?

    Very little surplus is non corrosive. I believe some of the Portuguese stuff qualifies, saamco may still have some. I would go with Century's Hotshot brand, you can get it for about$6 or $7 a box. Personally I shoot thousands of rounds of corrosive stuff, no problems. Just push a few soapy wet patches through after laying a folded towl over the mag, dry, then clean as normal. For the extra effort of perhaps 4 more patches, it's worth it to me.

    I had thought the Portuguese was gone with the wind. Jonk's post stirred me to check the internet, lo and behold, Samco still has it!
    This is some of the best military ammo ever made, at 29 cents a shot, buy it and buy it now!
    I see Samco also has some Austrian non corrosive 8mm for 36 cents a shot, that is probably damn good also.
    I like Samco, have bought two battle sleeves of ammo and a Swede bayonet etc from them, they have always done me right.

    $.29 per round!!!!!!!!!!! I will keep shooting my Turkish surplus that I paid$.03 a rounds for even if it is corrrosive.

    For $0.29 a round, I can load N/C ammo all day long and have beer money for after the range.

    gripe,gripe ,gripe.The gentleman was answering your question as best he could. Besides if you have military guns,you should also have the military bore cleaner that was made for corrosive ammo.IF NOT GET some.I am lucky to have a half quart of the old Hoppe's solvent that was made for corrosive ammo.Much better buy in quart containers. Think HOPPE'S when you think clean guns.BEST EVER....modoc
