Is there any reason...

Is there any reason I should not buy an XD? I am looking for a pistol to shoot at the range. Not really for home defense or to carry. Just one to have a good time shooting. Is there anything else out there that I should concider? I do not shoot Glocks well...and they will not warranty a gun that has shot hand loads, so they are out. Sigs are just too expensive for me.

    give the man a reason not to buy one. i love mine, but it is in 357 sig so it isnt really the ideal gun to just go shoot. it is pretty accurate and they feel good in my hand at least. the one in 9mm will be a better gun to just shoot that wont cost you an arm and leg in ammo. but if you are handloading you may go with the 357 and save a chunk of money. they are $15 or so for a box of cheap ones.

    When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.

    Oh, I forgot to mention... It will be in 40S&W. Unless I find a cheap one in 9mm. I hand load for both of these now.

    If you are looking look at the Tanfoglio Witness line of hand guns. Pick a calibur pick a frame type and a size. You just may be suprised. My 2 cents [8D]

    If you don't shoot Glocks well, why do you think you will shoot an XD well? Both guns have a similar long, gritty, too heavy trigger pull.

    My problem shooting Glocks is when I grip the gun and pull it up it will be shooting to the left, by a lot! The same holds true with a Ruger but to the right. The XD is one that pulls up strait for me. Another is a Sig Pro. The grip just seems to fit my hand better.
    As for the note on the trigger, I know it does not have the best feel, but it is better than some others out there. Besides this is for a "fun gun" not competition. Thank you.

    Sounds like you should take a couple of shooting lessons. I used to have one issue or another with a number of guns, but I am now convinced that good shooting skills reduces "gun" problems to almost zero.

    I had the same shooting problem and found out it was the "Nut behind the stock". I can't seem to tighten it. Good Luck

    OK, I own 10 glocks and 5 XD's. I am starting to sell off my Glocks. I love the XD's and my wife shoots them extremely well. They work well for people with small hands. My wife can't shoot a Glock, but she is really good with a XD. Buy the Tactical (5") They are very accurate. And they carry a life time warranty, also you can shoot lead in them as well.
