Huntmaster Model 33 ???

Hello,
I collect Pump 22s and just purchased a Huntmaster Model 33 at the Big Reno Show. Does anyone know who the manufacturer is for this rifle? It is a 24-inch round barrel tube feed pump S,L,LR. It has a 'plastic checkered pistol grip stock and a plastic grooved slide. The Dealer said it was a Stevens. It does look similar to the Stevens No. 80 Gallery but there are no Stevens markings that I can find. Thanks for looking.

  This is a WAG! Seeing that it has all plastic furniture it MIGHT? be one of the guns put out by Nobel Manufacturing in the 50's & 60's.
  
  The made a bunch of inexpensive .22 rifles & shotguns over a period of 20 years. A lot of them or sold as either "Store Brand" or unmarked "Hardware Guns".
  
  Numrich/Gun Part Corp. has the most complete list that I've seen, ( of Nobel guns ) on there used parts web-site. Go over there and check them out you might be able to identify your rifle?

  Huntmaster was a trade name put on guns sold by Speigle, the old mail order catalog business. I have never seen a cross reference for Speigle sold guns. I have also never seen a department store gun sold with the name of the manufacturer on it. Thus, Sears guns say J.C. Higgins, Sears, or Ted Williams, but not Stevens, Mossberg or Winchester, even when made by those companies. This one is going to be hard to track, but start with a Stevens book and check the characteristics of your rifle against those of the model 80. Be aware that the department store guns were usually "economy" versions, and often lacked checkering, had plainer wood etc. so it may not agree perfectly. If you get lucky some one may come along who knows something about these, but I have not see a thread on a Huntmaster here. Also British motorcycle Ariel had a Huntmaster model, which you will see doing searches on your rifle.
