Standard or chrome,which is better and why?

  Gentlemen,
  After shooting my AR and having a few ejection problems, I discovered that the carrier key screws had become loose and the key was not tight on the carrier. Somewhere down the road someone had aparently not peened the screws when the key was installed. My question is does anyone know if there's a proper torque setting for these screws, and what is a perferred method for peening them so they won't come loose again. Thanks for any assistance.

  Depending on the plating process used, the tolerances on the standard carrier are going to be more consistent. Industrial flash chroming or hard chroming will not affect the tolerances much and give superior corrosion resistance, just depends on what you plan on doing with it.
