Pentax scopes any good?
Hello all, Just interested in a Pentax riflescope i saw at the dealer today and wanted to get some feedback on these. The guy said they are made by Burris and i must say they seem identicle to the Burris fullfield II models but a bit cheaper, The model is the Pentax Pioneer....any info would be great.Thanks

have had 3 pentax scopes...they are made by burris and are an excellent value in my opion 0 -

I've never had a Pentax scope,but I used to have a pair of their binoculars.Excellent quality!!
Now if I could just find the little turd that stole'em,I'd be happy.

Dear Sir: Don't know about their scopes, and I NEVER WILL. I have two of there Binoculars, A 8x40 PCF which I liked enough to buy a pair of 12x50 PCF V's. Now these are not the best in the world but average binoculars. To make a Very Loonnnggg story short, their Company and the C/S don't stand behind there products. No matter what you say, it will be YOUR fault and it will Cost You to get it fixed and take a long time to get back. This is the 1st time I've ever been so disappointed in a company that I would never buy from them again, and would NEVER recommend any of their products. Sorry for the bad news - hope this helps.

I sold alot of Burris and Pentax products for many years and never had a problem with either company when it came to repairs. They were very prompt on repairing their products and I remember only one time that Pentax charged one of our customers and that was when the customer had tried to repair them himself. Pentax has an agreement with Burris as Pentax provides lenses to Burris for their optics and then Burris makes the Pentax riflescopes. I havent had any contact with the companies for about ten years so they could have changed their policies but I doubt it. If you need repairs you talk to the factory rep or the top dog of the company if you are having problems. I own each companies products and I did send my Binoculars into Pentax when a lense came loose and they repaired it and returned at no charge and this is the same with Burris. Good Luck[:)][:)] 0 -
Have owned pentax binoculars for 15 years and they are great. had a problem about 8 years ago sent them in and they repaired at no charge. easy on the eyes and moderate on the wallet. 0 -
i've got a pentax 3x9-40 6 or 7 years ago that i've used on my 308 and 30-06 for moose and caribou, now it sits on my 223. it has never let me down and it is very clear, a good scope for the money. just my opinion.

that is funny i have had a Pentex Lite Seeker break. sent it back to them and had a NEW scope show up in less than 10 days
