Colt Service Ace
I have a Colt Service Ace slide on a Colt blued 1911 frame.The pistol is clean of dirt and grease but must be recycled by hand to eject and reload.I had a Colt Ace original in the service and had no problems such as this.Any suggestions? Thankyou

I've owned a number of these 22 conversions in the past. They have what is called a "Floating Chamber", this enables the 22 cartridge to cycle the steel slide in and out of battery, when the pistol is fired.
Unfortunately with modern 22 ammo the floating chamber tends to "solder up" and causes the malfunction you describe. Disassemble the slide so you can get at the floating chamber. Clean it good so that it's able to move freely.
I have been using C C I Stinger 22 Ammo for years with my conversion unit. Because it has a jacket like conventional rifle ammo it won't "solder up" the "Floating Chamber". I've had zero malfunctions since using Stinger 22 Ammo.

After you clean the floating chamber use a little teflon lube on it. 0
