Info on savage 219 and 220 single shots

I'm looking for any info on the savage 219 and the 220 single shot guns. If there is any books, magazines, or anyting I can get my hands on.

There is not much writen about them. The 220 was just a shotgun, while the 219 was made in 22 Hornet and 30/30 and could be supplied with a shotgun barrel. The rifles were fairly accurate, but suffered from very heavy trigger pulls.

I have also been interested in locating some information on the 220's and 219's. But have not had much success. I bought a 220A in 1956 when I was 10 years old. My first gun. Still have it. I recently bought a 220B in a 16 ga. Both have the case harden receivers which I think gives them a neat look. I have always thought they were a very well made gun and kind of neat since they are hammerless. The 220's were all shotguns and came in the 220, 220A, 220B, 220C and more. They were made in 12, 16, 20, 28 & .410 ga. The 219's were rifles made in various calibers like the 22 Hornet, 25-20, 30-30 & 32-20. Some of the 219's also came with shotgun barrels. You might see a 219 receiver with a 220 barrel. They came from the factory like that. I have been emailing a guy in Ohio that collects the 220's and 219's. He's provided me with quite a bit of information. Hope I have been of some help. Good luck.
