How many in the clip?

Any body have a colt 1908 380? How many cartridges does the clip hold? Can I put one in the chamber by hand?

How many cart. does the clip for a 1908 380 cal Colt hold.Can I safely put one in the chamber manualy without bending anything.I know they are supposed to be 7 shot but is that 6 in the clip and one in the chamber?

  The Colt model 1903 in .380 caliber is made to hold 7 rounds in the magazine. The .32 caliber holds 8 rounds in the magazine. You could load a round into the chamber, but the gun would be cocked and you would be relying on the safety to keep it from going off.
  
  Since the safety is in the up position when it is on, it is very likely that the safety could fall to the fire position (down) by itself, if it came into contact with something like a holster or even clothes.......not a good idea.
