What year/serial # did marlin start using Microgroove barrels on their 1894-44mags?

From the famed Marlin Ballard rifle of the 1870's right up to the present, Marlin rifles have had an outstanding reputation for accuracy.
For centuries the spiral grooves cut into the bore of a gun barrel to produce rifling had been cut by the long tedious procedure of passing a tiny "hook cutter" through the barrel. Removing a small amount of metal with each pass of the tool until all were of an even depth.
Working on a new theory, that of displacing the same amount of metal with more but shallower grooves, Marlin engineers perfected the Micro-Groover system in 1953. In this system all the grooves are produced at a single pass of a special carbide tool which results in a smoother bore, uniform from one end to the other and from one barrel to another.
The patented Micro-Groover system also produced superior accuracy by gripping the bullet more tightly, while at the same time distorting it less and positioning it more centrally in the bore. The perfected system is one of the outstanding achievements in arms making during the 20th century."

Thanks mike, thats what I figured. I have a friend with an old one in 44-40 which has a ballard cut barrel, and was hoping to find a used 44 mag with cut rifling, but I might just have to buy a new one.
