Flobear round?
Anyone familier with the 22 flob? My Uncle has an anschutz chambered for the Flobear and we don't really know much about it.

22 Flobert perhaps?
I think it was something like the 22CB, a gallery cartridge more or less. I'll check my old manual when I get home and see if there is any info on it.

FLOBERT AMMUNITION is named after the French gunsmith M. Flobert. He was the true inventor of the rimfire principle.
Originally, Flobert ammunition was by definition a cartridge wherein the priming and propellant charges were one and the same. More recently, rimfire cartridges, small shot cartridges and Flobert cartridges supporting a round-nose bullet were developed to contain a small additional amount of powder as a supplementary propellant charge, thus enabling a more effective cartridge to be produced. These are the cartridges in use today.
FLOBERT STARTING BLANKS are intended for use with starting and signal pistols. They emit a sharp loud bang of approximately 100 decibels.

I have a couple plastic canisters of the center pictured flobert shells, they have an acorn on the base of the casing.
They contain a round lead projectile, no powder, primer compound only. I use them on possums and other pests in my yard. They are very accurate and sound like a pellet gun out of my Anschutz Woodchucker bolt action.
These shells will work in any gun chambered for .22LR, however they will not cycle autos.

The below is a photograph of what has been identified to me as an original Flobert shot cartridge from Europe. If anybody knows differently I would like to hear from them, but it is obviously not of the modern variety of Flobert of which there are several in my collection. The Flobert is in the middle and is flanked by a 22 Short and a 22 LR to illustrate its size. The shot size has been described as "dust".
It doesn't seem like there is any practical purpose for this cartridge other than for dispatching cockroaches - maybe.
I think this cartridge is quite old since it has been in my collection for over 30 years.
I wish there were more cartridge questions like this on the forum.

i have a 22 and a 9mm i shoot both i get the 9mm shells from fiocchi they make both ball and shot.winchester made 9 mm for there model 36 but both the gun and loads are getting too expencive to shoot.i also have some 4mm rim fire in my collection.Aguila makes a primer only 22 shell i shoot in my old 22's.tks hedge0
