plastic tips

hi guys

the reason i am hearing that ranchers and guides want and insist

on plastic tip bullets is because of the reputation they have gotten

for generally being so explosive. i ant gonna try and educate or

argue with some guy that may have more prairie dogs than walmarts

got underpaid workers. i will take the bullets to a preacher

have him pray over them if that is what the rancher wants.

i have shot some half gallon milk jugs with different kinds.

i can say from my very limited experience from them that the

plastic ones do more damage to the jugs som of the hp or sp

bullets. try it yourself. it aint scientific.but it sure is

eye opening

    The tip (I include the old Remington "Bronze tip" in this class) fills a large hollowpoint and on impact starts the mushroom and jacket spliting sooner than a HP or SP alone does.

    Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.

    Yes this is all true, but there are some explosive soft points and spire points or spitzers out there like the Speer TNT's and Sierra Blitzkings that work "explosively", I'm not saying you are incorrect but what I'm saying is that there are other frangible bullets out there that do the same thing as the nylon tipped jobs. For varmints I'm not the biggest fan of hollow points except I do shoot paper with them, instead I prefer the soft points like the Sierra Blitzkings but have used some of the plastic tipped ones too.

    Ain't nothin like high speed polycarbonate[}:)][:0] I use them in everything from .224 to .338 and LOVE EM!!! Now they even come in a bonded core design,..what more can you ask for? match accuracy and violent impact for clean harvests.

    why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....
