drilled and tapped but which mount
I have a Mossberg 500 that I bought used. The receiver is drilled and tapped. I want to put a scope on it but don't know what type base will fit. There are 2 sets of holes (4 holes total). The distance between the holes is exactly 1/2 inch with 2 1/8 inches between the 2 sets of holes. None of the bases I have fit that configuration. What base will fit these hole sets? Thank you.

A call to Weaver will give you the numbers you need for any scope base.
With any luck they will send a chart if you ask nice.....

I just realized I didn't give all of the important information. I should have also said that the screw holes are size 8 not the normal size 6. While the #88 mount fits the hole configuration, the holes are drilled for size 6 screws and the #8's that fit the receiver are too big for the mount. [:(] I called Weaver and found out that Mossberg 500's changed in 1997. Pre-'97 take the #88 mount, '97 and after take the 417M mount. I have one on order now.[:)] Thanks again.
