Remington 37 bolt removal

I need help removing bolt from a Rem. 37 . Have tried holding trigger . Don't see a bolt release . Doe's the safety act as a bolt release also? [?]

I was able to remove the bolt by taking the stock off. Depressed the sear with a small screw driver thru a window in the side of action .
Is there an easier way ?

  Hello There are 2 varations but if you open the bolt and look straight down thru the ejection port you should see what looks like the back half of a loading tray behind the magazine well and in front of the retracted bolt it is blued on my rifle there is a small hole about the size of the letter 0 on this post there is a shiney piece of metal at the bottom of this hole take a small pin punch and depress this while just gently shakeing thre bolt as if you are tring to remove it and wala it will come right out .Note you will also need to use punch to depress to get bolt back in.

  I HAVE THE 1940 TARGET VERSION . I HAD FOUND THE PIECE YOU DESCRIBED TO REPLACE THE BOLT BUT HAD TO REMOVE THE STOCK TO GET THE BOLT OUT . DO YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE STOCK TO GET THE BOLT OUT ON YOUR 37 ? IF NOT TELL ME HOW YOURS IS REMOVED . WHEN THE TARGET TRIGGER IS PULLED WHILE BOLT IS OPENED FOR REMOVAL THE SEAR DOESN'T DROP DOWN FAR ENOUGH FOR THE BOLT TO CLEAR . NOT MUCH TRAVEL IN TRIGGER WHEN PULLED.
  
  I'M MISSING SOMETHING HERE . BET IT'S SOMETHING SIMPLE ,SURELY THE STOCK DOESN'T HAVE TO COME OFF FOR BOLT REMOVAL .

  Hello no I don't have to pull barreled action from the stock and no the target trigger is not what you pull . you have to reread my first post .you need a small pin punch to go thru the hole and depress the sear.

  On my 37, after you depress the sear through the hole, in the bottom of the receiver in front of the fully retracted bolt, you then need to pull the trigger and hold it while you remove the bolt. The sear is released to travel further down when you push it with the punch. Another thing that may be causing a problem, is that someone has "adjusted" the trigger over travel way too tight and you can't clear the sear unless you properly adjust everything.
