ruger mark ll scope mount

I recently acquired a new leupold m8 2x handgun scope,just for kicks I was thinking I would mount it on a stainless mark ll target I have.the problem is its not drilled and tapped.I have found several types of mounts where you remove the rear sight to mount or a couple that grab the side of the pistol like a claw.give me guidance on the best way to go and who makes the best mount for my application,I do not want to get the pistol drilled and tapped,,,,thanks

    look at the no gunsmithing mount offered by weaver. i have used one on a mk2 for 15 yrs now. it's a good set up.

    I had my 22/45 drilled and tapped by a gunsmith for $30. Using a Halosight works great.

    B-Square make a very good one for your gun, it's a clamp on. I use it on my Ruger... Never a problem with it. Less than $50.00 keep looking in the auctions... OH! you can use the Ruger sight too [:)]

    Aimtech make a mount that replaces the right grip panel.It uses Weaver type rings and can be changed back to normal in a minute.I don't like drilling holes in guns either.

    The Ruger #1 rifle uses two different number weaver mounts, one front, other rear. I cant remember which it was but one of them fits perfectly on the MKII. This makes a real clean scope setup. Of coarse a gunsmith needs to drill& tap the gun for you. And this mounts are only pennies compared to most. I used a B-Square clampon several years back and had no problem until I cleaned the gun and the solvent seeped under the clamp. Couldnt keep it in place after that no matter how much I cleaned it with degreaser.

    Why waste time learning when ignorance is instantaneous.

    nuttingbut we're talking .22 pistols here not #1 rifles.

    better get glasses Bill , he said that one of the mounts that fit a #1 will also fit on the Mark II
