sks quick change out magazines
i just purchased two diffrent quick change out magazines/clips
for my yugo style sks...well neither one of them fit..seems that when you attempt to slide the bolt forward the magazine lips(where a round would sit) does not line up corectly..therefore bolt doesnt slide to the loaded position and the bolt stays open
does any one know or have any experience with these quick change out mags. or with yugo stlye sks?

If you read the archives, this has been throughly discussed.
You should stick with the original fixed 10 rounder. The fixed 20 rounder MAY work; all the removeable ones are guaranteed NOT to work.

Congratualation on being one of the many including myself that though how neat it would be to have changable clip. Those clips are junk they are a rip off. Stick to stripers! 0 -
I do not know why everyone has had nothing but negativity for the removable clips for an SKS. I have 3 SKS's made by Norinco and one Yugo. I have never had any feed issues with any of them, except when trying to use that crappy surplus HPs. I have 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 round detachables (all metal and not that junk composite), I have never had an issue with them.

I have 2 Russian SKSs. I have a couple of metal removable 30 round mags that work really fine. Not trying to dispute anyone, just stating my situation. 0 -

I have been able to coax a (steel) mag change from (most) all my SKS's....but many had to be tweeked a little, so they may not fit all other rifles. And that is a big negative.
Regarding strippers, there is a GOOD point. They have fewer problems than most folks have with change-outs. I think that even when I have a change-out, most folks could feed strippers to fill it up more dependably than another change out.
I gave a Norinco to a friend of mine, with a change out Mag. I showed him how to 'reliably' make the change-out.
He is a jar-head and the trouble he was having began to agravate him. His comment was "If they had come with these, there would have been more little xxxxmen get their ticket punched trying to make a mag change.0 -
I've always used USA 30rd'ers and never had a problem. I have 5 SKS's that use them, 2 that use AK mags and 1 with the factory mag.

I use USA 30 round steel magazines and they work great in my Norinco SKS.
I have used these for years without any problems. Sometime they are a bit hard to get in the magazine well but otherwise no problems.
Keep looking for steel magazines and you will probably find some that will work well in your SKS.

If I understood correctly, you are having trouble installing the quick change out mag. Try leaving the trigger group in (after having removed it to remove the origional mag, reinsert) then, open the bolt and the qco should go in. I got two of the twenty rounders to work after a lot of working with them, then, one got to where it would start and feed properly only with 19 rounds loaded. I decided to go all origional and practiced with stripper clips until I got good at it. You need to buy high quality stripper clips though, some I bought from Cheaper Than Dirt were bad at binding.
