HELP!!!!Westernfield 30(Stevens 520) malfunction
I have a Westernfield 30 (stevens 520) 12ga and it is malfunctioning. When you fire it you cannot cycle the action like normal. You have to push the action release button first. Also you can only shoot one shell at a time because the shells in the magazine tube keep flying out when the action is cycled. What do you think the problem is. I can realce teh parts myself but I havent worked with these before so I dont know what parts may be out of whack. I would like to get it back up to shape. I have a 620 20 ga which is the rounded back model but I like the square back browning design.

A. THESE DO NOT UNLOCK WHEN YOU FIRE THEM (THE EARLY ONES ANY WAY), YOU HAVE 'TO PUSH THE BUTTON" TO OPERATE THE ACTION. B. YOU HAVE A "WALL HANGER" THESE WHERE NOT VERY GOOD SHOTGUNS TO START WITH AND ANY ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THEM IS AN EXERSIZE IN FUTILITY. 0 -
Well its actually a westernfield 30 knockoff. It was probably made in the 50's. Does that make a difference? 0 -
Western Field was Montgomery Ward or Sears when they sold guns. WF is just a Remington/Mossberg/Stevens/Savage/Marlin/Winchester/etc. made for either Sears or Montg. Ward. MW is dead now and has been for years.
