WHIPIT OR WHIPPET SHOTGUNS INFO!!!

AWHILE AGO MAYBE A YEAR AGO I SAW THIS WHIPIT SHOTGUN ON GUNBROKER NEVER REALLY ASKED THE SELLER A QUESTION BUT WHAT I GOT FROM THE DESCRIPTION WAS THAT IT WAS A REPO BONNIE AND CLYDE SHOTGUN CALLED A WHIPIT GUN. I HEARD THAT THERE WAS A COMPANY MAKING THESE GUNS AGAIN AGAIN AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANYBODY HAS INFO ON THESE NEW REPRODUCTIONS.

    The WHIPPET was a Trade Name used By J. Stevens Arms Company on Single-Shot Shotguns for Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett Company of Chicago, Ill...Early 1900's...Hardware Gun and Mail Order Sales....No Great Collector value unless NRA 90% or better...
    The Model was known as the <Model 94A>.....

    The "whipit" used by Bonnie and Clyde was a Remington Model 11
    with the barrel and stock cut short. There was a sling attached
    to the shortened stock that allowed the arm to be hung over the
    shoulder and hidden by a coat.

    To keep the Feds happy and keep youself out of trouble. "IF" this reproduction is a functional shotgun, the barrel would have to be over 18" long and overall length would have to be over 27".

    ...and chambered in 20ga. Barrow had one lying alongside each side of his driver's seat when they were killed.
