Systema problem

Got a problem and hope someone can help. Took a Colt 1927 Systema out to the range today. Every time I fired it, it would go off but I would have to pull the hammer back each time to make it fire ( Like a Colt single action revolver). And on two occasions it double fired.
What would cause this?

  Sounds like the hammer is following the slide forward when fired: sometimes hard enough to set off the next round..Id have a smith check the sear engagement before that thing goes full auto on you[8)]

  You've got a worn or broken sear or hammer.
  
  Take the gun apart and check them both out. One or the other, or both, need to be replaced.

  I had one with the same problem,I bought and installed a complete nowlin trigger job kit,you should be able to get one for around $60 with a new hammer,sear,disconnector,firing pin spring and adj trigger.it fixed my problems plus brought my trigger pull down to 3.5lbs
