Dillon's 9mm Dies?

I have a Dillon 550B and need 9mm dies... Are the Dillon dies about the best you can get? Looking at other brands, all are about the same price.... HELP!!!!!!!!! [:D]

    I don't know that there is a 'best' die brand.I have four different brands or so,and if the choice were to pay shipping or buy something else local,I'd buy another brand locally.
    Personally,I like the Hornadys'...the no-wrench adjustment of the seating stem is why.

    I have to agree with Throckmorton, my favorites are also Hornady but even Lees work well for less money . [^] [^] [^]

    You might want to read the die description in Dillon's catalog. They made some engineering changes a few years ago that makes them a lot easier to use, especially in the 550. The seating die has a quick release feature that lets you clean it without removing the entire die from the press. I also found that, unlike some other brands, the Dillon decapping die doesn't smash my 9mm cases occasionally.

    All of my rifle dies are RCBS. I have a set of RCBS carbide dies in 9mm that I like. I have the Hornady New Dimension Titanium Nitride dies for the rest of my pistols. I like th Hornady much better then carbide. I dont know anything about the dillon dies, but if I needed to buy a new set of pistol dies it would be the Ti/Ni dies.

    Whatever dies you get, you might want to consider a set that has seperate seating and crimping dies. I'm not terribly fond of setting the OAL, then setting the crimp, then readjusting for OAL on the combination RCBS die I use for .45

    On my Dillon 550 I have used RCBS and Lee dies. Over the years I have replaced them with Dillon.Currently awaiting delivery of my 357 dies.
    If you already have some Dillon Dies you know the advantages of using them.
    With Lee dies their lock ring is a bit thick for one of the dies(The sizing die I think),I had to replace it with a Dillon lock ring.

    I like the hitch pins on the Dillon, they also allow you to change the bullet type with out removing the die, as well as cleaning as stated above, and they are also under the no B.S. warranty
