Rem 870 carry handle?

Just saw an item on Ebay that said "Remington 870 Shotgun Carry Handle" Ebay item#7145229466

I've never seen anything like this before and I'm a big 870 fan and shooter.

Can anyone out here in GB land give me a positive ID on this item and tell me where it goes and how it's installed on an 870 12ga.?

It's kinda cool looking and I think it wouldn't look too bad on one of my guns that I have for semi-combat & home defense use.

    It looks like it was made for a Remington folding stock. It would fit the holes in the stock, on top when folded, but I don't see
    any retainers (large C or E clips). I don't recall this being a Remington item. Maybe someone else has more info. Also, Choate made a top-folder stock for the 870.

    You're probably right,it might be for a folding stock.

    I have two of the factory folders, and it looks like bamma is correct on all accounts, it does look like a homemade job ,it gives ma an ideal to make one for my self but with a swivel

    It does appear homemade to me also. The weld shown in the pic just doesn't look very good to me. I don't believe it is a mil-spec item,
    since the Navy and Marines did not like the rattle of the Rem. stock, and tried to get Rem. to add a rubber coating to it, which, as far as I know, they did not. Rem. did start adding a thin rubber butt pad that the customer could install though.
    I have thought about a handle for mine, but, I don't think I need one.
    I would rather use the sling.
    If you are going to make one, why not try a heavy FN handle?
