Colt 25 auto expert,,please
I just purchased a Colt 25 auto serial 1218x. The mag looks as if its been with the gun since its incepton but THERE IS NO COLT MARKINGS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE MAG. Did Colt always stamp their mag plates? THANKS...nambu

colt sold 2 types of .25 autos, the older one that they manufactured themselves and a newer one that is an astra 'cub' with colt stamped on it (both good guns btw)if the magazine release is a small button in the left grip it was mgf. by astra. 0 -
This is the early Colt 1908...But the ones I had before had a Colt trademark stamped on the magazine floorplate. This one does not, but the mag looks like it came with the gun,,,wear wise. Is it possible this ia an original mag without the Colt stamping..THANKS. nambu 0 -
I had one, but....well, that's another story!
If I remember correctly, there were no markings on the mag. But it was two-tone. I'm pretty sure it was original to the pistol.0 -
Serial # indicates second year (1909) of production and it should have round top grips and an all blue magazine with no markings... 0
