whats your opinion?

on the howa 1500 lightning series of rifles? saw a few in different calibers in a local shop and it felt nice but really light...had a decent scope on it too for $410...are they worth it?

    Howa has always made pretty damn good guns in my book, and for that kind of money, I think you would be hard pressed to do much better.

    Supposed to be a fairly straight action with a decent barrel. I have not owned one,..but from what I have heard, would think that at $400 you won't be doing bad at all.

    why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

    I'm would say you have a dead heat. Savage is a little more accurate out of the box, but the Howa is cheaper and not far behind in the accuracy dept. I really like the accutrigger as well; good design.

    I have one in .243, I have used this one more than any of my other guns...can't go wrong with it...
