DuraCoat OK?

I have seen an advertisment for DuraCoat. This is a gun finish that claims to be easy to apply DIY. Any one know if it is as good as claimed?

  Yeah duracoat is good. Shotgun News had an article about it and GunKote. I myself prefer GunKote to Duracoat but both are durable and more rust resistant than bluing or Parkerizing. They are a bit tricky as in the gun has to be very very very very very clean for it to work properly and the gun has to have parkerizing already on it or a sandblasted finish to get it to stick. So on polished guns you better be sure of the color casue if you want a polished blue again it will be a pain to get it back. I did a Beretta in GunKote gloss black and a Remington 870 in matte Black duracaot. I think the gunkote holds up to wear a bit better.

  Both get good reviews. Duracoat, however does not NEED to be baked.
