Where can I find a good adjustable rear site that will fit an HD-Military without altering the dovetail? I'm wanting more of a target site than an original type. Thanks.

What don't you like about the stock site? I'm not sure if anyone made a replacment site for that gun. I have never seen one.

Just won a HD here on GB. It has no rear sight. I have a nice one already,thought I might spruce this one up a bit. 0 -
as you know, in order to adjust windage on original hd's , you go to cock the slide and adjust that screw underneath, tap it left or right then tighten. its a pain. they made aftermarket sights. i may have one laying around. give me an accurate micro reading of you dovetail and ill measure it against the one i have. 0 -
I don't know if the dovetails are the same size? but I had the same problem with a High Standard Model A. The rear adjustable sight dovetail was a meanie size. It was smaller then modern dovetails, ( Model A, dates to the late 30's ).
As a fixed rear sight was OK by me, got hold of a rear sight off of a Mark II Ruger. Layed it out with Dykem and clamped it in a vise using hardened tool bits as a fileing guide. Carefully filed it to the layout lines. Worked like a champ. Long as your lay-out lines are true, and your carefull when your fileing, you shouldn't have a problem.0 -
i just checked ALL my extra sights. none will fit the hd. sorry. i agree with ruf. those hd dovetails are small. might want to kick around brownells for them. might want to pop a question to perry shooter. maybe he has a contact for them. keep in mind, if you change that rear sight, odds are, youre gonna have to restake a front sight to match it since if you raise the rear with a beefy rear sight assy, the front will be too low. good luck!

I've decided to go ahead and get an original sight for now,but I can't seem to find one. I checked Brownell's,Bob's Gun Shop,and Numrich(egunparts).Numrich is the only one to list them but they are out. Anybody know where I can get one? Thanks again. 0
