Ammo recommendation - 9mm Baby Eagle
I just bought a new 9mm Baby Eagle and love it. Have been shooting new American Eagle ammo in it. I buy it at the range I go to but it's pricey.
Any tips on where to get reliable 9mm auto ammo in bulk, cheaply? I'd like to buy 20 boxes at a time to keep the cost low.
I'm not stuck on American Eagle, either - any brand that you think will shoot reliably in my 9mm baby eagle is welcome!

I should state my purpose - target practicing and that's it. Not looking for ammo to rely heavily on, like for self defence or competition. 0 -

Something that I've run across lately, and like, is Magtech ammo. Made in Brazil, and reloadable. Federal Eagle is o.k. also (talking target practice here--not defense!). Actually, I'm a .45 ACP person, but I've been reading a great deal lately about the heavier bulletted versions of the 9mm, 124 gr., 147 gr., and have recently acquired a quantity of Magtech in these weights, but too recently to report. I've always liked GECO 124 gr. in a favorite Luger of mine. If you are just burning it up downrange, go for the cheapest non-corrosive.[:D] 0 -

I believe that the Baby Eagle will shoot anything you put through it. If you have an Academy Sports store near by you may be able to buy 50 round boxes of CCI Blazer for just under $4 a box. I don't know if it is promotional or not but its been in the sale paper for the last month or so. You are knuckle-dragging ape with a gun.0 -
As for the Magtech stuff, it seems to be really good ammo. One of the local class 3 dealers sells it and when he does his monthly shoot that is what he brings. Seveal thousand rounds of this stuff has gone down range in the machinguns with no problems that I am aware of.

There are no acedmy sports near me (San Diego, CA). What do you guys think about the 9mm they sell at Wal-Mart? 0 -
If you live near an Academy Sporting goods store, they have CCI Blazer 9mm's for $3.86 a box of 50rnds. Thats right $3.86, they are as good as any other fmj production ammo and less than half the cost of many. Great for plinkin around.

Wal-MArt sells the winchester white box pretty cheap. Its what I put through my CZ75. No problems as of yet. 0 -

Yes Wally World sells 9mm Winchester, 100 round value packs for around $11 a box. The Baby Eagle will devour that stuff without a hitch. Its good ammo for target shootin. You are knuckle-dragging ape with a gun.0 -
The Wally World white box ammo is about as cheap as it gets(No Shipping!). The clerks are sometimes kind of doofuses, but if you get beyond that it works well in my Kahr PM9 and my Baby Eagle seems to thrive on it(and about anything else that says 9mm Para on it). Seems well made and burns pretty clean,no malfunctions. I don't know that you could reload much cheaper and get a clean burn like the winchesters. The Wolf can be iffy, as the .45 auto burns dirty. Some say the 9mm is good. Sellier & Bellot is also good stuff. 0
