Browning 1903?

I recently came into posession of a semi-automatic pistol that has been passed down through my family. I have spent hours omline trying to find an exact match with no luck. Can anyone help me? On the side is "Fabrique national D'Armes de Guerre Herstal Belgique".."BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE" ..On the right side of the trigger guard are symbols...a "d" with a circle around it , a "v" with a square around itand then a number 7 underneath...the ser# is 46500..FN on the hand grips. Its is in excellent sharp also and i'm told that there are papers authorizing my great grandfather to bring it back to the u.s. Any idea on its value?

    IF? your pistol is a Model 1903? it's more commonly known as the "FN Browning Model 1903".

    They aren't awfully common here in the U.S. Most of the ones seen are ex Swedish Military Pistols that were made under license in Sweden, and converted to .380 ACP when they were imported and sold in the US,

    Just guess'n but from your post $350 - $550. It is real hard to determine without seeing it. 30% Less if it is the previously mentioned Swedish Contract model.

    It's value would depend on many factors, including if it's in factory original condition and the type of "papers" that were given to your grandfather.

    If you could post quality pictures of the pistol and give us data on the papers, perhaps we could give you a better idea of it's value.

    Oh yes papers... I have a 1903 Colt... Box and papers sell for almost as much as the gun. Export papers... I have no Idea save to verify a little history... in some circles that is probably worth something, maybe a lot.
