SW 629 Scope mounting Question

I own a SW 629 and had a scope mounted to it. When I went to zero it before deer season the scope base came loose, flexed and broke the scope.[:(!](Luckily Burris repaired the scope free of charge)
The second gunsmith I took it to said that you can't mount a scope to it because you can no longer get a full length scope base. I think this is bull because I've seen the new SW magnums(.500 & .460) with half length scope bases.
What do I need to do to get the scope mounted on it? Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. I have a B Square base but am leary of putting it on there and having to send the scope in again.

    The main problem i would see is the recoil is going to knock the scope to pieces i would not go with b-square to mount that id contact the S&W company to get the correct base to mount your scope on that handgun

    Send it to JD at SSK Industries in Ohio, and have him put one of his T-SOB base's on it.. End of problem !!!!!!!!
    I have had a 2 1/2X7 Burris on a 375JDJ Contender for 12 or more years and it is a tight as the day it was put on, and it has over 2000 rounds through it.
