Maverick 88
I recently purchased a Maverick 88; 12 gauge pump. It is the 'home defense' model with a short barrel and pistol grip stock. I have the standard stock and would like to use this shotgun for deer hunting. I've ben told the Mossberg 500 slug barrel is interchangeable. Is this true? Thanks.

I know this has to be a frequently asked question, but I recently purchased a Maverick 88 and have been doing some research on accessories. This shotgun is essentially the same as the Mossberg 500 and all parts can be interchanged save the forearm. I am curious if there is something I can replace that would allow me to attach a Mossberg 500 forearm to this gun? 0 -
I think it is unlikely to be heat-related with that pump gun. It sounds like your gun is ejecting okay? Just having a problem feeding from the magazine up the elevator to the chamber. Are you the original owner? I don't know if it matters, but if all else fails call Mossberg.
I bought a new one for my youngest son a few (5 or 6) years back. After the first season (maybe a dozen boxes of shells through it), sometimes it would fire, other times not. I mailed (USPS) the taken down shotgun to them - after calling them first and getting a "service number" - and they repaired it and returned it to us in short order. No problems since.

I just got it for christmas. Its new and im using factory loads. I have had no other problems.
