    What do you Winchester guys think of this rifle? I would like to have it. I lost one back in the 80's and would like to replace it but I don't want to get raked over the coals for one. Is the price about right? Seem a little high for a post 64. Any comments will be appreciated.

    I have a 357 trapper and I love it. I'm always looking for a 44 mag trapper too. You can shoot 38s through the 357 if you want to save money.

    If you just want to shoot it to hear it go bang and punch paper and plink go with the .357 model they are lots of fun to shoot and as said earlier they will shoot .38's as well. If you want to hunt Deer or Black Bear go with the 30/30, still pretty cheap to shoot ( 50 cents a round ) and will work great for Deer sized animals at moderate ranges 150-200 yards if you are a good shot with it and stay with 150 grain bullets.
