Remington model 34?
Hey Folks,
I'm trying to find some information on the Remington 34 .22. Was the "P" designation stamped on the barrel as with the 41? Was the peep sight a Lyman (unlike the 41P)? I have an exceptional first year rifle (12/32), That is in 95% condition with a Lyman 55R and sling swivels. A friend of mine insists that it is a "P", but my 41P has a neat little factory peep sight and is stamped 41P on the barrel.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

My Model 34 dates to August 1932, ( 43XX ). It came from the factory with a peep sight installed on the left rear of the receiver, ( not a Lyman ). The only markings are on the left rear portion of the barrel, just in front of the receiver, ( Remington date code ).
I researched mine when I first got it. The model I have with the Remington factory peep is called the 34P. The model with the Lyman peep and swivels is called the "Model 34 NRA Rifle". They weren't made in the numbers of the standard 34 or 34P.
If your rifle is factory original in the condition you describe, it would have substantial collector interest.
