Need dates of manufacture for JC Higgins[Sears] 12 ga bolt action shotguns model# 583.13 - 583.23 Especially 583.20 Also can anyone give info on JC Higgins 583.10 [NOT 583.1] Thank Ya

    You will be very hard put to find that kind of information on sears guns. You can go to the crossover lists in the Bluebook or at Gun Parts Corp website, and look for the underlying model. You could determine what years the model was made and the versions made for Sears will be in that range. Winchester firearms sold by Sears were numbered in the same series as the underlying models sold under the Winchester name, but that may or may not be true of other manufacturers. Not a lot of information has come to light on the guns sold by Sears other than the crossover lists, because the vast majority if not all were economy versions of the manufacturers model and there is scant collector interest.
