Today's find and ?: IJ Target Sealed 8

I found this one today in a pawn shop. It's an Iver Johnson Sealed 8 Target in about 85% condition. Serial number is M52336. The barrel is round. Any idea when this revolver was made? Thanks for any information. I know it is a post WWII version and it was made somewhere between then and 1954. I'm hoping to narrow it down a little more.

  target sealed 8 serial number M52336 manufactured in 1948, there were apporx. 17,000 manufactured this year.
