I bought a brand new model 29 . It is engraved in gold."Hostiles" 44mag and "241 of 500" all gold inlay.Can someone tell me what it is worth?I bought it for 399.00.Thanks

  Your got the "January" Edition (first month) of the "Twelve Revolvers" series.
  
  This was a special run in 1990 for the Ellett Brothers that was originally sold by subscription.
  
  There was a "parting of the ways" between Ellett Bro. and S&W, and the full 500 sets were never manufactured. There are mixed opinions on how many sets were actually completed.
  
  You didn't say if you got the original calendar book and box w/ the deal. Regardless $399 is a fair price. Individual revolvers have brought $600+ and full sets $6,500+
