Lorenz Carbine

I have an 1860 Lorenz Carbine or a Dornstuetzen. It is .54 cal.
Dose anyone have information as to the shape of the bullet?
I know that it is .537 and the weight is about 450gr and that
it had two bands for expantion but nothing on the shape.
I'm hoping to shoot it at the N-SSA Nationals this spring.

  I don't know, but who might have that information is Dixie Gunworks, info@dixiegunworks.com or 731-885-0700. They actually sell a reproduction bayonet for the Lorenz rifle, and a Rapine brand bullet mould, #MO0232 shown on page 323 of their 2004 catalog for $89.95. There, you might think, is the answer to your question. But, the mould is described as "Size .534400 Minie. Mould is recomended for Dixie's 1857 Mauser (PR1330), Early American Jaeger Rifles, and the Austrian Lorenz (PR0911." So there's a source for a mould to make your own bullets, but it seems to work for several rifles and may not be precisely what the original Austrian bullet looked like. They also handle an extensive line of ready made cast bullets if you don't want to get into casting, but I don't know it that size is one they stock. I'd give them a phone call.
