Reloading Rainier Ballistics plated bullets ??

Does one use jacketed bullet or lead bullet reloading data for Rainier Ballistics bullets ? Apparently the bullets are lead electroplated with [soft] copper. None of my reloading manuals mention anything about Rainier Ballistics or plated bullets.

    I've loaded them for years, useing data generated for lead bullet loads. Almost all my reloading is for low impluse, i.e. plinking type loads.

    According to the company they can be loaded to quite high velocities and still maintain there accuracy. Years back I loaded up some for hot loads in a G 20 Glock, and it didn't work out for me, accuracy wise. My 2 cents is not to push them at over 1100 FPS.

    The plated bullets can be shot at higher vel but go with the lead load for your reloading I think you will find that fast type powder BULLS-EYE or WW231 or VV320 will work the best.

    Have not tried the Rainier, but use the Berrys plated 125g fp in my .357. So far they are the most accurate load I have loaded. Just started, but was very inpressed with my first couple tries. I use lead recipies with Unique.

    I did some personal research with them ,due to hearing several opinions ,some say lead ,some say fmj load data ,I loaded several Rainier's with various grains of powder ,the same with rnl ,and fmj ,all had same oal ,and the Rainier's where somewhere in the middle

    Here is one example

    All three .45 acp 230 grain loaded with 5.1 grains of 231

    Average velocity of ten rounds each
    Rainier 744 fps
    Rnl 799fps
    Fmj 725fps

    As you can see the rainier had there own data ,yes them being plated ,and having the diameter of lead may play a role in the claim to load them as lead data ,but I did this with several powders ,and different bullet weights ,all came out similar

    So you can use both as a starting load ,and work your way up to what you like take your pick

    I have never tried the Rainiers, but load the Berrys electroplated all the time. One thing with plated bullets is don't get too agressive on your crimp. It will actually cut the electroplating and the lead could separate from the copper plating. I get excellent accuracy from the Berrys bullets. They reccomend you keep velocities under 1200fps.
