Winchester Model 275
Howdy All,
Well I just got this new to me 22mag, and as is my custom with most things the first thing I do is take it apart [;)] I'd like to refinish the stock and forend, but does anyone know how the darn forend comes off? I searched the web and cannot find any info on this rifle.
Then I'd like to take off the barrel collar cover which seems to be plastic, and touch up the bluing. If anyone knows where to find gunsmithing, assembly, and disassembly info on this model I'd really appreciate it.

ANYONE KNOW MUCH ABOUT THESE 22MAG'S?
I'VE FOUND ONE THATS IN GOOD CONDITION FOR $200, WAS WONDERING IF THIS IS AS GOOD A BUY AS IT SEEMS. ARE THEY KNOWN FOR ANY PROBLEMS? THANKS0 -
Might have a problem? your prize was only made for a short period of time in the mid to late 60's. Some references don't even mention it. They did make a standard .22 LR model called the 270, I don't know how much difference there is between the the two models? You might have better luck tracking down info on the 270.

I have found out that the only difference between the 270, & 275 is the LR, and Mag mods. The problem with searching the mod 270 is you end up in the circle of .270's. I have just resigned my self to the fact that this will take a lot of time. I have been looking for a barrel wrench too. I think one from mod's 150,155,190,270,275,& 290 should all be the same. However just try to find one. I actually have two of these now. Got one with a bulged barrel for parts. Then I happened to find a barrel and it's the old story of the challange of making something out of nothing. Just test fired it yesterday and it is a shooter. less than 1" groups @ 100 yds with open sights. To know how much of a surprise that was, you gotta know that I just put the rear sight on and adjusted it to about the mid windage point and lowest elevation. To bring it in I just had to tweak it right about 1/8". I better go buy a lottery ticket.
