**Non rifled slug through no rifled barrel?
I recently purchased a variety of 12 g. slugs to do some tree hunting with and noticed some that are not rifled. My barrel isn't rifled either so I was wondering if they are still safe to shoot. I realize there will be an accuracy issue but I'm not worried about that, just if it is safe. Thanks in advance

You will be fine shooting nonrifled slugs through a smoothbore. Just make sure you are not shooting them with a extra full turkey tube in your barrel. Like you said, the accuracy will not be stellar, but they will shoot fine. 0 -
I take it the are saboted slugs? They will still work through your gun. What choke is it? As you said, there will be an accuracy problem, but they will work. 0 -

I hunt my trees with a chainsaw. They are very easy to find and somewhat tedious to bring down. Butchering is a cinch. Tough chew though.

I'm from Indiana where you can only hunt with shotguns. Through years of trial I have found the Winchester Super X slugs have a profound range with my smooth bore 12 ga. Remington makes a good slug too, but I will only hunt with the Super X slugs now. Due to their popularity I had to drive an hour away the day before opening day just to stock up again. 0
