    A special purpose altered 91-30, perhaps used for line throwing, the barrel has been reduced in size and there is a groove cut at the bottom for a rubber/neoprene seal "O" ring indicating that something was slid over the barrel, could even have been a suppressor fitted to the barrel,interesting rifle.

    It looks like a Russian .22 trainer. The action looks to be way too short to handle a 7.62 Russian.
