St Valentine's Day Massacre

I just noticed that there was a short discussion of this event. I was a lab assistant for J H Matthews who was one of the founders of the Northwestern Crime lab, that worked up the ballistic report on all the weapons found on the scene. After testing, they went back to the Chicago coroner who handed them out mostly for political favors. The 2 I personally examined were a 1921 Thompson and a short barrelled Colt Pocket Positive with a cut away trigger guard. Both of these ended up in the pocession of Joe Wilimovsky Jr. who ran the Wisconsin Crime Lab and whose father was another founder along with Calvin Goddard of the previously mentioned NW lab. Both of those guns were eventually sold in a Rock Island auction. For documentation, they both had the coroner's tag still attached plus a copy of the crime lab ballistic results along with a crime scene photo clearly showing both guns (among others) on the floor of the garage along with the bodies.
