38 super/ 9mm 1911?

Some of you may have saw my post and pics about a compensated 38 super slide. Are the 9mm barrels and 38 super barrels exchangable in 38 super slides, the reason i ask is becasue i was thinking about possibility of swaping out 38 super barrels and ejectors and barrel bushing and recoil springs. that way i can shoot both and i have one frame that is matched to fit one slide.

Also if i install a 38 super ejector, since it is longer than a normal 45 ejector, will the longer ejector give very posotive ejection?

  Yes, I have done what you want to do. Just make sure that if you have a ramped barrel, that you a buy a 9mm barrel with the same cut for the ramp. there are a couple of different cuts out there for the ramp. I think they call them the Clark and Nowlin. I bought mine from Bar-Sto

  You can't put a 45 ejector in that gun. the slide won't fit if you do. it is a different ejector.
