Colt Pocket Positive Caliber

Have always wondered about this, the smallest of "modern" Colt DA revolvers; I've seen the caliber mentioned as ".32 S&W", and also ".32 S&W Long"; while I know you can fire the shorter .32 S&W in any gun chambered for the longer .32's, I was wondering if there were ever any Colt Pocket Positive's that were chambered for the shorter .32 S&W EXCLUSIVELY, or were they all chambered for the longer .32 S&W Long?

  welcome to the wonderful world of .32's, .32 s&w (s&l) weren't chambered in colt revolvers they used .32 new police (same dimentions only no s&w in the name). there is also .32 colt (s&l) which is different ( basicly a .c.f.version of the .32 rimfire). enjoy.

  Mike - thanks for the info; marketing "pride" on the part of the big gun makers sure makes for some collecting fun (and confusion!) After reading your informative posting, I'm still a bit confused on whether I'll need the shorter .32 rounds, or can order the longer .32 rounds for my "new" Colt Pocket Positive that will be arriving shortly - thanks for any further info you can share on this topic!

  I have always used .32 S&W Longs in mine. However I have on occasion used .32 shorts with no problems.
