Stevens 345 receiver
I just aquired a 20 guage Stevens model 345 receiver and forearm. Unfortunately the barrels had to be destroyed, as some fool had sawed them off at 14 inches. The buttstock suffered the same fate. The serial no is 49XX. Can anyone tell me when it was made and if there is any chance of locating barrels for it. Also, would it be worth fixing, or should I sell it for parts.

345 Hammerless Boxlock...Poor$200---NIB$1000 in Ned Schwing's 13th edition...Should have a small cicle with a letter in it stamped on the reciever in front of the trigger-guard or behind the hinge-pin. The letter is the "Date-Code" from 1949--1968....Post the letter and I'll give you the date if it's between those years...Try e-gunparts for barrels.

DR, Thanks for the info. The letter is an "H". Does this mean it was built in 1956?
I looked at e-gun parts "Numrich" They didn't have the 345 listed.

Yes, you got the date right... You might see if the 311,315,511,530,5100 series or others barrels will fit!?! I would ask someone at e-gunparts...Maybe someone here knows?.. I have a Springfield 20 double and love using it on bunnies and squirrels, I {personally} would fix it as long as parts dont get too out of hand! Good-luck!

Thanks again DR, I sent a question about the barrel set to e-gun parts, don't expect an answer before Monday. Looks like the dam$-fool kid really screwed up when he cut this thing off. His uncle gave it to me with the understanding that I would torch the barrels, which I did.
I, too think I will try to fix it. It will probably have to go to a gunsmith to fit the barrels, if I find any. Love them twenty guages...

I would ALMOST bet a 311 barrel will fit....Notice I said ALMOST![;)]
