    I haven't seen them anywhere except the reviews in the gun mags. In the gun business, manufacturers send prototypes to the mags for review in order to get a feel for the demand; depending upon the letters they get, & orders that go in to the distributors, production may follow within a few months, a few years, or, sometimes, not at all.

    There will always be a few guys who just have to own the most powerful handgun in the world, but I doubt that there will be enough to keep this gun (& ammo) in production long.

    I would agree were it not for the fact that the 460 XVR can also fire .454 Casull and .45 Colt. With that virtue, I would bet on a long and prosperous life for the new X-frame. Since S&W has never had a production .454, this will be it, plus some. I'll buy one as soon as it hits dealer shelves.

    It's easy to spot liberals-they are the ones who have no assets to protect and need every handout they can get. They have forbeyed themselves ascendence to a productive lifestyle.

    i just spoke with smith and they will be available first week of april. at least thats what they tell me. the 500 s&w was really hard to get at first. now they are available in mass qtys. it took allmost a yr for me to get one in my shop.so if you want one get your order in with your local dealer.

    I fondled one of these at the SHOT Show and didn't want to put it down. I'm staring at a picture of it right now on the front of the 2005 catalog.
    It's the only handgun that I've seen lately where I actually get jealous when someone else picks it up and drools over it.
    It's big, heavy, powerful and it's beautiful!
    It's ability to handle the 3 different rounds will also be a big selling point.

    I had heard they where already available but wasn't goign to drive a couple hundred miles to see if it was acutally there. Plan on getting on around the beginnning of May myself.

    Smith should be releaseing them in a few weeks... Limited quantiy I have 5 comming in 3 are taken.
