i'm not sure what i'm asking, but, a friend just e-mailed me to as if i knew anything about "-rimmed rifle cartridge, round nose, 8 mm, M/89, it's a Norma, the primer is stamped with NP...(never seen a primer with a stamp on it!).-" < thats a quote as per my e-mail
does the NP mean anything in particular ? any replys would be interesting thanks<>[:)]

I believe the rifle cartridge is for the Danish Krag Rifle. 1889 was most likely the year it was adopted.
As well as being used by the Danish Military, it was a popular hunting cartridge in the Scandinavian Countries.

An 'M/89' what? There are several flavours of M/89's. All different and using different ammo.
The 'NP' could just mean 'Norma Primer', but I'm guessing.0 -
NP is a factory Norma primer. Other companys also used to stamp there primers also.
I think Rufe-snow has the answer to what cartridge it is.
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.0 -
