Browning Citori 20 ga frame same as 12?

I have a Browning Citori 12 ga. and was thinking of getting a 20 ga. for quail. Although their wasnt one at the gun shop, the salesman said they are based on the same frame which would'nt make the 20 much lighter than the 12. If this is true does anybody know of a quality o/u 20 on a small frame in the 1000.00 range? Thanks for the help.

    I don't believe that the 12 and 20 are on the same frame? Does this salesman also sell basketballs or tennis shoes on a given day? I don't think your gonna find a Browning these days in the $1000 price range? The Franchi is a nice gun in that price range but on a 12ga frame.

    actually the 12 and 20 are the same frame. weight is determined by type of wood used, pad or buttplate, and some key parts being alloy. thus...some are lightning grade guns(light). browning has so many guns to choose from, some are even alloy receiver and forearm irons. shop around for the light one you need. good luck!

    BobSki....you may want to re-think that "same size frame" They are not the same I have one of each in my hands....not the same size.

    I agree with Joe. Same here. The 20 ga. and the 28ga. citoris use the same frame. The Ruger Red Label is a gauge specific frame as is the Ruger 28ga. Not sure on the Berettas.

    A Ruger 20 ga Red label used for around $850.00 is a great bird gun.

    I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.
