Colt 44 Pump Rifle

Can't find out too much about a ball park value of a 1888(or so) Colt 44Cal. Pump Rifle thats been in a relatives closet for years. Ser.#6770, has the Colt Horse logo on the side of the breech, loading tube etc., and I'd say in about 70% condition. Nothing in GB search, or auctions...

  I agree....Sounds like a Colt Lightning...The value of the Gun will depend upon just which LIGHTNING You have....? There are 7 differant types or Models listed....Small, Medium and Large Frames were produced...Value can be from $1000.00 to $10,000....and maybe more depending upon Condition, Caliber,Type and Provable History...We'll really need more information to be of any further service.....

  Hello what you have is a medium frame colt lightning in 44/40 cartridge even in 70% they bring a fair amount of money if you put up for sale good closeup pictures are a must to get your best price.

  OK thank you for the info, it does say 44 cal on the barrel, thats about it, Id put on some pics but I dont know how to go about it... Neil

  Hello small frame was in 22 rimfire med frame was 32/20 38/40 and 44/40 only large frame was large rifle cartridges they made round and oct barrels and rifle with longer barrels and carbine with shorter barrels . Do a search on completed auctions and they will show examples and prices note not all items were sold some people put reserve prices that are day dreams
